I am a clincial social worker because…
I am born into a family legacy of professionals whose values and beliefs were demonstrated in the healthcare and helping professions. My earliest memories are of volunteering in a hospital where I witnessed healing through medical advancements and compassionate care. In considering all of the options available to me for a career, social work provides the greatest personal satisfaction and professional mobility through many environments. Achieving the highest levels of credentialing has afforded me credibility and recognition among various professions, payor sources, organizations, corporations, and industries. I earned my degrees with honors at George Williams College and Jane Addams College of Social Work at the University of Illinois at Chicago.
It was natural to follow my passion of providing hope and healing; after graduation and advanced clinical's I began my formal career at a trauma hospital as a medical social worker. My skills advanced to specialty areas where I taught internal medicine/family practice residents, volunteers, pastoral care interns and was promoted to supervisor of master's level clinical social workers. Special project director in facilitating and implementing the hospital case management department. Volunteerism and numerous awards at base and leadership levels included the American Cancer Society and Hospice of the Florida Suncoast.
Returning to my passion of promoting healing in people's lives through direct counseling and mentaI/behavioral care, I opened my private practice in 1995 to include consulting, teaching at the college level, mentoring professional colleagues, and, am Critical Incident Stress Management (CISM) trained to include specialty areas of aviation and banking industries. My approach is goal-oriented, pragmatic, supportive, and, based upon strategies that follow best practice research methods.
My credentials identify me as a highly trained and experienced professional possessing clinical excellence. Most recently, I have completed the Center for Conflict Resolution's 40-hour Performance-Based Mediation Skills Training, and am certified as a Divorce Coach through the Association of Family and Conciliation Courts.

Our profession has earned the respect of and compliment the mission and vision of significant institutions, corporations, and organizations. We are leaders, counselors, business owners, volunteers, professors, active and contributing members of our communities, hold political office, and more. We graduate from rigorous college programs, participate in continuing education courses, and uphold the highest ethical standards of our work.
